Hobbs Dual Credit Academy and ACT Academy

Thank you students and parents for your overwhelming response in applying for the 2020-2021 Hobbs Dual Credit Academy.  The application window was closed as of Friday, April 17th at 3:30 p.m.  No more applications will be accepted for Fall 2020.  Students who did not meet the deadline are welcome to apply in Fall 2020 for the Spring 2021 semester which will take place in the fall semester. All applications received through email have been printed as well as any applications that were submitted prior to school closure will be reviewed this week (April 20th).

 * Students will be notified whether or not they were accepted by the end of the week (April 24th), and a letter will be mailed out to the student’s school Email.

*ACT Academy applications will be processed at a later date, and students will be notified of acceptance before the semester is over.  This process is still TBD.

Hobbs High School on-site Dual Credit or ITV Courses

Students who are interested in on-site dual credit or ITV courses at Hobbs High School will need complete a dual credit enrollment form that requires student and parent signatures.  This enrollment process will take place either later this semester before school is out OR later in the summer before school resumes.  If your student is interested in this opportunity, he or she would have requested those courses in his or her enrollment with the counselors before school closures. Again, this process is ON HOLD until we can safely distribute enrollment forms and receive those back.

*Teacher recommendation forms are NOT required for on-site dual credit enrollment.

*While Accuplacer testing is encouraged, it will not be mandatory for Fall 2020 enrollment.  Student's grades and overall GPA in specific subject areas will be considered when placing students in on-site dual credit courses.

Please call Mrs. Carpenter at Hobbs High School or email at carpentery@hobbsschools.net for further information.
