AP Seminar

Monday, September 10, 2018
1. Students will look at QUEST, the main idea of the course. Students will form groups of three and choose a random picture that is displayed in the room.
2. Students will generate as many questions as they can without stopping to judge or answer the questions, based on the picture and its description.

Tuesday, September 11,  2018
1.Students will review the questions they generated yesterday and label them as open-ended or close-ended.
2. Students will look at the close-ended questions and see if they can improve them.
3. Students will select the three questions that they want to research the most.

Wednesday, September 12, 2018
1. Students will take their vocabulary test.
2. Students will explore their group's three questions using a variety of sources.
3. Students will then select ONE of the three questions based on their findings and research it with a more narrow focus and find three sources.

Thursday, September 13, 2018
1. Students will create create a poster (They Say/I Say). They Say will be the sources and the answer from the source to the groups question.
2. The I Say portion of the poster will the group's collective opinion based on their questions and the argument.
3. Students will create a 1-2 minute presentation to walk the class through the QUEST experience.

Friday, September 14, 2018
1. Students will explain the purpose of their Big Idea (QUEST) in one sentence somewhere on the poster.
2. Students will have a picture symbolizing their assigned letter.

This make take more than a week, depending upon the resources being used as evidence to support the claims and arguments.
