·         Analyze words and discover appropriate synonyms and antonyms

·         Create original sentences using the vocabulary words appropriately

Class Starter

Everyday Edit: Reinforce and review basic skills in the areas of spelling, capitalization, punctuation, grammar and usage

Teacher Activities

Identify corrections on class starter as a group. Introduce new vocabulary words. Have students write them in the notebook. Review synonym and antonym. Have student identify one synonym and antonym for each vocabulary word. Have students write sentences using the new vocabulary words.

Student Activities

Copy and make corrections on <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Bell work. Copy vocabulary in notebook; write one synonym and one antonym for each vocabulary word. Write complete sentences using the vocabulary words.

·         Analyze essential elements of plot, time, sequence (frame story), flashback, foreshadowing, setting, and mood
